Create a video and win pens from Sakura!
If you missed out on my last giveaway, you're in luck! Sakura is hosting a big giveaway for my favorite pens, Pigma Microns! Take a peek at the video above on how to enter. You can see an example of my live doodling at the 39 second mark.
About the giveaway via Sakura:
To celebrate all all of the interesting, technical, quirky, and cool ways you use Pigma ink products, we’re asking you to film a video where you talk about how you use Pigma Micron pens. Describe what you do with them, why you like them, and if you want you can even show us something you’ve written or created with them! If you don’t have Micron pens to show, be creative with your entry with why you want/must have them.
After that, please copy and paste a link to your testimonial video in the comment section of the video below on YouTube. Then contact us at www.PigmaMicron.com/Contact and send us your YouTube username, mailing address, and a link to your video. Each of the first 100 participants to meet all qualifications will receive a special gift of Pigma Micron and Pigma Graphic pens. This giveaway will run until we reach 100 entries or December 31, 2014 – whichever comes first.
Visit www.PigmaMicron.com/terms for the rules.
Good luck!
Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight 06 Pen Set Giveaway!
It's no secret that my go-to tools of the trade are made by Sakura. I've been using their Pigma Micron pens for as long as I can remember, and I love the consistently beautiful, and highly pigmented results they give me. I'm also smitten with their Gelly Roll pens (especially the Glaze, Stardust, and Metallic line), as well as their Permapaque markers.
As much as I love my signature monochromatic palette, I love experimenting with pops of color to mix things up. When I was approached by Sakura to try their newest Gelly Roll pens before their Spring 2014 release, I jumped at the chance! The new, finer .03mm tips perfectly complement my intricate style, and keep my admittedly perfectionist tendencies at bay. The fact that the bright, vibrant colors just pop on black surfaces (and equally on light ones!) gives me the best of both worlds. I can still get the high contrast results I crave, but with a unique twist. As if they weren't fun as is, they also glow beautifully under black light!
To celebrate the release of the newest addition to the Gelly Roll pen family, I'm hosting a giveaway in collaboration with Sakura! In addition to winning a set of Gelly Roll Moonlight 06 pens, the two chosen winners will also receive a set of my favorite pens in the universe, Sakura Pigma Micron archival pens.
To enter, simply visit my Facebook art page, and leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite thing(s) about Spring.
Giveaway details: Two winners will be chosen at random on March 31, 2014. Each winner will receive one set of Sakura's newest Gelly Roll Moonlight 06 pens and one set of Sakura Pigma Micron archival pens. Giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada, only.
This giveaway was kindly sponsored by the lovely people at Sakura of America. Thank you!

A Summer Love Affair with Canvas.
Since the Red Bull Canvas Cooler Project, I've been a little obsessed with drawing on canvas. As with most artists, I've experimented with many different mediums, and I've come to the conclusion that paint just isn't my thing. I love the precise, portable aspect of pens and markers, and I'm determined to draw on everything and anything I can get my hands on! These 10x10" canvases were a lot of fun. I'm so used to working on pieces that are much more detailed and intricate, so it was nice to have a little instant gratification when working on these.
I can't express how much I love Sakura's Permapaque markers when
working with canvas. They are highly pigmented, never bleed, and remain
perfect underneath both spray and brush-on varnishes.
My next canvas project is a huge one. For the next 2 months I'll be working on the pieces I'll be exhibiting at SCOPE Miami in December. I'll be posting updates on those soon. To say I'm ridiculously excited is a huge understatement!
